Updated: Jun 10, 2020

Our body is one of the most complex machines on the planet, and like every machine, it needs to be put to use so that it can be in its prime state. What happens to a device that is left unused in the corner for too long? It starts to rust, the mechanism gets affected, and soon, it becomes unusable, barely working. Similarly, our bodies need to move and be used often so that we can stay fit and healthy.

In simple terms, mobility is medicine for the body. The only way for our joints to lubricate themselves is through movement. It is one of the best natural remedies for a wide range of ailments. Not only does it help in reversing and healing the damage that has already been done, but the movement also plays an essential role in preventing all types of pain and illnesses.

Today, many of us tend not to prioritize exercise because we have so many other things to worry about, like our jobs, our homes, families, and others. However, we forget that we can only tend to these things if we are in good health, and the easiest and most effective way of ensuring good health is through regular exercise.

When you move your body the right way on a regular basis, you are ensuring that you are building strength, relieving yourself of pain, and also, improve your mood. Here are some simple yet effective exercises that you can benefit from:

Gyrotonic® Method

Gyrotonic is a contemporary exercise method that makes use of the natural movement patterns of your body. It has been gaining a lot of traction in recent years, as more and more people are discovering the many amazing benefits that Gyrotonic offers.

The ‘magic’ that makes Gyrotonic great is that, the method uses the natural spherical and spiralling movement patterns of the body to decompress and strengthen the spine, whilst working the nervous system at the same time. Since your spine is the structure that holds your entire body together and the foundation for movement, a stronger spine means a stronger body. Additionally, having a strong spine lays the foundation for overall good health and physiological system.

On a normal occasion, Gyrotonic exercises are perform using the Gyrotonic Tower but given the current situation during this very challenging period of COVID19, we can only workout without any equipment. And fortunately, there are various parts of the Gyrotonic movements that can be performed without the equipment.

Gyrotonic is great for improving your range of motions, increasing movement efficiency and for increasing muscle strength. It can also enhance active muscle recovery to prevent injuries, while also improving your mood considerably.

Even if you have been at work the entire day, you will still have the energy to practise Qigong.

One of the most significant benefits of Qigong is that it helps in creating balance in your body, which then brings about a ton of other benefits. For instance, it can help in preventing injuries, or at least, lessen the impact of injuries as it relaxes the muscles. It is also known to strengthen the immune system, the nervous system and helps immensely in stress reduction.

Pilates
